REMINDER: Our Tables are hosting a joint meeting!
October 23rd, 9 to 10:30 am
Central Hillside Community Center (1 Roof Housing), downstairs, corner of Lake Ave and 4th St E.
Dear Health and Wellness Table folks –
This past month has been very busy for our Table! We hosted two performances of “My Zip Code is Killin’ Me” (and a third performance will be this Friday afternoon at the St Louis County Conference at the DECC), and we completed three World Cafes at Central Hillside Community Center, Gimaajii/Trepanier Hall, and Laura MacArthur Elementary School. Our Table is about to move into the next phase of determining actions to become a community in which everyone has an equal chance to live full and rewarding lives.
At the same time, the Employment Table has been very busy with projects involving outreach and engagement with communities of color to connect them with job openings and training opportunities. Members of The Table Coordinating Council (cc’d above) think that it’s time for the H & W Table and the Employment Table to get together and learn about each others work, and discuss how we can support and coordinate our efforts for racial equity.
Our Tables are invited to meet on Thursday, October 16th from 9 to 10:30 am at the Central Hillside Community Center (enter the main entrance and go to the lower level). We apologize for this short notice, and hope that you will be able to join us. It should be a very interesting gathering!
