Hello. My name is Jeff Moen. I’m deaf. I work with the Minnesota Commission for the Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and the DeafBlind. Um, I’ve been deaf for probably over thirty years. I’m learning sign now, but I’m a little slow at it.
What I would like to say is, I’d like to encourage every one of us to get out and register and vote. I would like to encourage us to exercise our right to vote. As someone who serves on the Minnesota Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, we work very hard to get laws passed, and regulate, and watch what they’re doing. And it’s very important that everyone gets involved as much as they can. As much as they’re comfortable with. But the most important thing is that we get out and vote.
If there’s anything I can do to help you register to vote, or encourage you more to vote, you can call me, or e-mail me. You can go down to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services office, they will help you to get registered. I believe just about any government office, even a Post Office, you can vote, um, I’m sorry, register to vote.
And, um, I just can’t stress how important it is. Working with the commission, I’ve seen first hand how much things can change if we all get together. And that’s about all I have to say. I really, really encourage you and ask you all to get out and vote and encourage your families.
Thank you very much.
