The CATIE Center at the College of St. Catherine
This Regional Interpreter Education Center works as part of the National Consortium on Interpreter Education to develop resources for raising the level of interpreting in our region and across the nation.
Through the Northeast Minnesota Region III Low Incidence Project, which is housed at the NESC, Digiterp Communications has collaborated to create many of the CD-ROMs described on this site. Additionally, I work as an Interpreter Training Consultant with the NESC to provide skill development and mentoring to interpreters in Northeast Minnesota.

Minnesota Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf
MRID is the affiliate chapter of the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf. As a member of MRID, I have been involved in editing and producing the bimonthly newsletter, the MRID Update for the past 6 years. RID is the national professional association for interpreting--supporting professional development opportunities as well as administering national certification exams.
Conference of Interpreter Trainers
CIT is the national organization for people involved in the education of interpreters working between American Sign Language and English. Digiterp Communications recently did the layout and design for New Designs in Interpreter Education, the Proceedings of the 2002 CIT Conference. Doug Bowen-Bailey currently serves as Director of Technology and Communications for CIT and is their webmaster.
National Alliance of Black Interpreters, Inc.
The Mission Statement of the National Alliance of Black Interpreters, Inc. is to promote excellence and empowerment among African Americans/Blacks in the profession of sign language interpreting in the context of a multi-cultural, multi-lingual environment. Digiterp is in discussion with NAOBI, Inc. about potential collaboration to create new interpreting resources.
National Association of the Deaf
NAD is the national consumer organization of Deaf people. NAD is currently partnering with RID to create a new national interpreter certification.
National Multicultural Interpreter Project Curriculum
This curriculum was developed by the National Multicultural Intepreter Project coordinated out of El Paso Community College. It seeks to provide resources for making interpreter education and the interpreting field in general more responsive to the presence of racial and ethnic diversity within the populations served by interpreters.
This is a federally-funded project for promoting education and support for Interpreter Educators and Mentors. They also offer on-line courses for ASL and Interpreting educators and mentors. I completed their Teaching ASL/Teaching Interpreting certificate program. Project TIEM.online has also provided some technical support for making more resources.
Developed by David Bar-Tzur, this website has a plethora of resources related to interpreting, including a comprehensive set of links to other resources on the web. Well worth a visit.
Trudy Suggs, of T.S. Writing Services, has collaborated in creating a new CD-ROM, Shifting Gears, expected out in the summer of 2004. Her company provides a variety of services involving English and ASL.

Understanding and Dismantling Racism: An Interfaith Project
This collaboration of faith communities in the Duluth area is seeking to both recognize and dismantle the legacy of racism within congregations and more effectively partner with community efforts to do the same.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday Celebration
Digiterp has been involved in planning these celebrations for the past three years, including providing technical support with publicity and website development.
The AIC is a body of religious organizations which promotes interfaith dialogue, efforts toward social justice, and sponsors a chaplaincy program in local correctional facilities.
This is a site which creates puppets that will be used by Peace Puppets at Peace Church.
CD-ROM Manufacturing
CDman, Disc, Inc. provides CD-ROM, CD-Audio, CD-R and DVD manufacturing services to independent audio and business professionals. ISO9002 certified, fast, friendly service since 1991.
Digiterp Communications has worked with CDman Disc, Inc. to get CD-ROMs mass produced. Their website is a tremendous resource for those considering producing CD-ROMs in terms of technical information for how to produce a master, and see it through towards a final product.
